Welcome to the SLM 30 Day Blogging Challenge

Do you want to start blogging on your website, but don’t know where to start? Complete Scott Le Roy Marketing’s 30 Day Challenge for Blogging and you’ll have the framework laid to turn yourself into a well-oiled blogging machine to brand yourself as the local Real Estate expert in your market!

NOTE: Any and all of the items in any of our 30 Day Challenges are completely, totally, 100% optional. If you are unable or unwilling to complete any of the 30 Day Challenge items, that’s no problem!

Day 1

Watch our webinar covering the basics of creating a blog post on your KW Website: https://goo.gl/SGMY5t

Day 2

Write a new blog post (of at least 300 words, a great starting point for all blog posts) about why you got into Real Estate

Day 3

Decide how often you want to post a blog (weekly, every other week, every MWF, every weekday, etc.) and add it to your calendar

Day 4

Write a new blog post about your favorite locally-owned restaurant, then “Save as Draft”. Wait to publish it according to your blogging schedule from Day 3*

Day 5

Glance at http://scottleroymarketing.com/blog-5/ to get an idea for blogging structure

Day 6

Write a new blog post about why owning a home is important to you, personally, then “Save as Draft” to publish according to your blogging schedule

Day 7

Watch our video showing how to find free images to use with your blog posts: https://goo.gl/XUGtzP

Day 8

Find a Luxury listing or two in your area, and ask the listing agent for permission to write a blog post about it (see if you can get some nice listing photos from them, too!)

Day 9

Interview a local vendor who has provided excellent service, and write a new blog post then “Save as Draft” to publish according to your blogging schedule (Remember to send them a link for the blog post!)

Day 10

Watch the latest “This Month In Real Estate” video on Keller Williams’ YouTube Channel, and write a blog post explaining some of the numbers and what you’re seeing in your local market, then “Save as Draft” to publish according to your blogging schedule (It’s a great idea to do this every month)

Day 11

Write a blog post listing as many moving companies in your local area as possible, and your opinion of each if you’ve ever worked with them, then “Save as Draft” to publish according to your blogging schedule

Day 12

Interview a local Charity that you support, and write a new blog post then “Save as Draft” to publish according to your blogging schedule (Remember to send them a link for the blog post!)

Day 13

Interview a local government official about traffic/growth/healthcare/economy/etc. in your local area and write a new blog post then “Save as Draft” to publish according to your blogging schedule (Remember to send them a link for the blog post!)

Day 14

Take a trip to a local landmark and record a video blog with your phone, upload it to YouTube, then add the video to a blog post and write about it to publish according to your blogging schedule

Day 15

Take one hour to write down one blog post idea per month for the next year (i.e. January: Winterproofing, February: Local Date Ideas, March: Local Termite Inspectors, April: Curb Appeal Tips, May: Your Exercise Routine, June: Local HVAC Services, etc.) and save an empty draft for each one

Day 16

Write a blog post about one of the topics you wrote down in Day 15, then “Save as Draft” to be published in that month

Day 17

Write a new blog post about time-savers you use in your everyday life then “Save as Draft” to publish according to your blogging schedule

Day 18

Take one hour to brainstorm at least one “Top Ten” list (i.e. Local Attractions, Seller Mistakes, Buyer Mistakes, Open House Tips, Parks, etc.) to be posted later

Day 19

Write a blog post about one of the topics you wrote down in Day 15, then “Save as Draft” to be published in that month

Day 20

Write a new blog post about your favorite hobby/TV show/movie/etc. and why you love it, or how it helps you de-stress, then “Save as Draft” to publish according to your blogging schedule

Day 21

Write a blog post about one of the topics you wrote down in Day 15, then “Save as Draft” to be published in that month

Day 22

Write a new blog post about what people who move to your area are most surprised by, then “Save as Draft” to publish according to your blogging schedule

Day 23

Interview one of your staff members to spotlight them, and post it to your blog

Day 24

Write a blog post about one of the topics you wrote down in Day 15, then “Save as Draft” to be published in that month

Day 25

Record a listing tour video (yours or another agent’s [get permission!]) with your phone, upload it to YouTube, then add the video to a blog post and write about it to publish according to your blogging schedule

Day 26

Write a blog post about one of the topics you wrote down in Day 15, then “Save as Draft” to be published in that month

Day 27

Invite a fellow agent to write on their choice of topic

Day 28

Share your blog link with friends and family

Day 30

Share your blog link on social media, and whenever you post a new blog, share that link as well

*Note: If you are using the Blogging platform built in to your KW Website powered by Placester, there is no way to schedule blog posts to automatically be published later. You must manually click “Publish” on a post that was previously saved as “Draft”.
