5 Ways to Enhance Your Online Presence with Social Media
By Shelby Ballou
Driving targeted traffic to your website can be tough. Here are five ways you can enhance your online presence with social media.
1.) Listen.
Before you start pumping out awesome content, you need to listen and absorb. Read the comments section of your blog posts. In addition, read the blog posts published by your competition. If you listen to what people are talking about and absorb their interests and concerns, you can provide solutions to their problems with your content. Knowing your audience will help you create a consistent social media presence.
2.) Create unique content.
If you spend all your time promoting your content and none of your time focusing on the quality of your content, you won’t be successful. In fact, your audience will probably stop participating. Add as much value to your online presence as possible. Write authentic blog posts, reports, and guides. Offer an inside look into your company or website through Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. Answer any questions posed by customers on your social media accounts. This will position you as an expert in your field, and it will instill trust in your customers.
3.) Be accessible.
People these days want instant gratification. Customers probably won’t stick around if you’re not providing consistent updates and easy access to both old and new content. You can make sure you’re accessible by posting blog content consistently and creating an editorial calendar that includes valuable content. This will turn a potential customer into a loyal one.
4.) Engage with your audience.
If you don’t share content on your page, you can’t expect your audience to do the same. Social media is all about give-and-take. If you make the mistake of focusing solely on your content, your endeavors will probably fail. On the other hand, if you’re willing to help out other people who are trying to grow their business or followers, it will benefit you in the end. It’s as simple as re-tweeting a great article or sharing an interesting link on Facebook.
5.) Be patient.
You probably won’t get results overnight, so be patient. Take things slow, and nurture your leads over time. These leads will then turn into loyal customers and brand ambassadors. If focus more on long-term goals than short-term satisfaction, you’ll achieve better results.
